We are socialized to believe that racism is a thing of the past and that acknowledging race is the problem, while being subtly and persistently fed a steady stream of racism \u2013 like whitewashed versions of history through our schools and stereotypical portrayals of BIPOC through the media. Despite cries of America being a post-racial society, racism is deeply woven into the fabric of American culture and institutions and manifests as disproportionate access and opportunity to high quality education, housing, healthcare, and other basic needs.
